Hey Everyone, it’s Jon Jung of the Jungle of Jungle Fitness, the #1 Personal Trainer in Orange County.  Today we give you CELEBRITY THURSDAY!  We’re going to be discussing about the two movies that came out recently and is currently… as I’m typing the #1 and #2 movie in America.

Iron Man 2:

The world is aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is the armored Super Hero Iron Man. Under pressure from the government, the press and the public to share his technology with the military, Tony is unwilling to divulge the secrets behind the Iron Man armor because he fears the information will slip into the wrong hands. With Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, Tony forges new alliances and confronts powerful new forces.

Robin Hood:

Oscar winner Russell Crowe stars as the legendary figure known by generations as “Robin Hood,” whose exploits have endured in popular mythology and ignited the imagination of those who share his spirit of adventure and righteousness. In 13th century England, Robin and his band of marauders confront corruption in a local village and lead an uprising against the crown that will forever alter the balance of world power. And whether thief or hero, one man from humble beginnings will become an eternal symbol of freedom for his people.

How Robert Downey Jr. Turn Himself To “Ironman” With The Impressive Workout

He Successfully slimmed Down And Put 15 pounds Pure Solid Muscle On His Body

Before really getting into depth on how working out turned Robert Downey Jr. into an action hero, let’s go behind the screen on the person who was in charge with pumping up Hollywood’s “Iron man” - Brad Bose. He’s been in the fitness business with twenty years experiences. Brad also has experience in wrestling and sword work. He’s more refrained from judgment and lets clients discover for themselves what they want from their training sessions rather than standing over someone lying down as he believes it creates a dominant-submissive relationship.

Bose is professional and uses some unique equipment that most of the gyms don’t have such as Vortex fitness equipment - It’s a explosive kind of fitness machine, it’s the only machine in the world that allows you to punch with weight stack. Some other weird training tools included weighted Bulgarian bags, Meels ( ancient Persian giant clubs), Vibration technology and fire hoses which all add into the equation.

For Downey’s Iron man case, the challenge is to keep him from looking too much like a superhero as his character is an alcoholic and a womanizer and he’s an arm dealer. No need for a six-pack or bulging muscles build for Robert’s body, but they wanted to see that he had a power to forge iron. Keeping in mind that the character that he is playing , Tony Stark was a scientist rather than a body builder. So, Bose came up with the look that was like an athletic playboy, not say, a hulking Wolverine kind of guy.

Leg And Back Workout

- Wheeling a 600-800 pound wheelbarrow through an obstacle course.

- Swinging a Meel, or Persian Club over the head.

Shoulders And Arms

Robin Hood: Losing 50lbs Ain’t Easy

Losing weight ain’t easy, but someone’s got to do it and who better to do that then Russell Crowe. Although he ain’t exactly known for one of the hottest bodies, he did do quite a bit to shred down for his upcoming movie – Robin Hood. Now if you saw State of Play you know exactly what I was talking about. He was just downright fat and didn’t exactly look like no action superstar if you know what I mean. Here he is below.

Jon Jung of Jungle Fitness, #1 Personal Trainer in Orange County: Russel Crowe Biking

Right now the word is silent as to what he did exactly to cut down 50lbs, but it seemed like 12 mile long bike rides were fairly common, even challenging critical reporters like Annette Sharp to keep up with him along the way.

Now if you didn’t know, a typical bike ride for a light person (approximately 130lbs) would burn 400-500 calories in one hour. It’s a considerable amount of calories, especially when 3 hour bike rides were common for Russell Crowe. Problem is if you like the junk food, one McDonalds Big Mac contains about 576 calories…and that’s without cheese. So, even if you did ride 3 hours, you gotta make sure you eat those healthy foods or else you’ll just waste it all on one meal at the local fast food joint.

There are other reports that he shipped in about $160,000 worth of fitness equipment into his trailer, but now news yet as to what exactly he did while on set. Some reports say boxing, and weight training were the norm and since it seems he wasn’t much for diets – he loved junk food and smoking, it would seem that he had to workout fairly hard to keep the calories at bay.

So let’s give you a simple routine that takes 4 minutes to complete that will burn that fat off like no one’s business.

Tabata Intervals for Russel

20 seconds of Kettlebell Swings

10 seconds Rest

Repeat 4x. That’s it
