Hey there Orange County Locals! How was your weekend? I hope it was a relaxing and rejuvenating one! This weekend I went on a weekend getaway to San Martin, California. I stayed at CordeValle, a Rosewood Resort.

Above is a picture of the resort where you can do any of the following: workout, yoga, hike, massage treatments, facial treatments, spa treatments, golf, run, fine dining, swim, horseback riding, wine tasting, or just “chill…”
At this resort there no other options but to R & R: Relax and Rejuvenate. For those of you who have never attempt R & R, I highly recommend it!

If you want to seriously stay in great shape not just physically but also mentally and emotionally, you must seriously practice the two R’s: Relaxing and Rejuvenating. I know how many of our obligations and responsibilities can stress us out and make us feel overwhelmed where you think to yourself: “I don’t have time to…workout…relax and get a massage…to just take a walk or hike…to hit some golf balls at the golf range or go for a quick 9 holes…or whatever it may!” Trust me I felt the same way, but what I found was that if you seriously want to complete your life positively, you must first know how to love yourself.
Once you figure out how to make yourself happy and love yourself, everything will seem so much simpler and clearer. Trust me on this one! :) So if you want to lose weight over the holidays and simply keep the pounds off, figure out what it is you are lacking and like Nike says: Just do it!

Many people take a while to figure out what exactly it is that makes him or her happy. Of course having that significant other in your life or family or friends those are just obvious answers. But looking at it on a deeper level, you must figure out what makes you SANE and helps your day feel more POSITIVE and PRODUCTIVE and COMPLETE! My secret to what makes my day and week feel positive, productive, complete, and keeps me sane is exercise! But not just any exercise, but resistance training with lifting real heavy weights!

… and doing performance based cardiovascular activity: basketball, golf, running, hiking, swimming, snowboarding, surfing, etc.
